Steven Tyler (Tyler’s mom) Phone Interview – 1982

28 July 2010 25 Comments

audio only – Just to see if I could get through to Steven Tyler via his mom during Aerosmith’s “Rock in a Hard Place” tour. It was an innocent call and I found Mrs. Tallarico quite polite. This was in December, 1982. Aerosmith were on a tour of the US with Jimmy Crespo (replacement guitarist for Joe Perry). I placed a mic next to the earpiece of another phone line. Yes, the old fashioned rotary dial phone was real. I ended up going to the show at the Met Center arena in Bloomington (where the Mall of America now sits), Minn. I believe the openers were Pat Travers and Rose Tattoo.

This is amazing. I wonder if Steven knows this is being broadcasted on YouTube? Sad that she passed away in ‘08 but that’s great she lived so long.

4-1-1 and Yonkers, NY – that simple, plus I knew the family name. Simple as that. Victor (his dad) even had a place up in Sunapee, NH at the time. Not stalking , just trying to get backstage tix, and it was nice chat, I must say so myself. I truly believe it was her, meant no harm, and enjoyed the call with her – a very pleasant lady and mom. You could kinda tell she was a tad down about Steve’s band and state of health at the time – but was a true mom standing by and up for her son. Gordo

how did u get his number????

  • AxelFangirl8 said:

His mom didn’t even know where he was lol. Wow, if he’s in his early to almost mid-30’s then that was like a little less than 30 years ago. Wow. He’s like 61 now. She does sound like a very nice lady =]
I’d half expect someone like that would refuse to answer anything and just hang up the phone. Sounds like an awesome conversation!

You must have done some serious stalking to get her number. Good job!

I loved being 13 and calling homes and pranking them! Only one time back then the woman had a caller I.D. but I talked my way out of it. These days caller I.D.’s are too common and just ruins all the fun. Yeah, star 69 too. Ah!

I heard that when Mia was born people would call her and she’d tell them the number of the hospital where Steven and Cyrinda were.

Her voice sounds a lot like his. (or vice versa)

  • rviles2323 said:

That had to have been Tyler’s mother. She knew details about Steven that no other woman could have known.
